Teacher Web WebQuests - Search and, then, create a WebQuest online. WebQuests are stored on the Teacher web site and are free to create. Select Teacher tools and scroll down for the link to WebQuests.
Online Children's Stories - There are a lot of stories available on the Internet to read or download. Some of them are from well-known books. Others can be found only online. This may be copied and pasted into ReadPlease or E-Text Reader.
TrackStar - This is a wonderful tool that allows teachers to organize web sites with annotations that provide scaffolding for students. Thousands of tracks already exist to help new users consider ways to use the tool and serve as a resource on a number of topics.
National Assistive Technology Research Institute - NATRI conducts AT research, translates theory and research into AT practice, and provides resources for improving the delivery of AT services. Link to the AT viewer to see movies of different tools being used in the classroom.
Assistive Technology Training Online Project - This AT project provides training and information on assistive technology. There are excellent resources and tutorials for many specialized software programs.
Teaching Every Student - The Teaching Every Student (TES) section of the CAST Web site supports educators in learning about and practicing Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Teaching Every Student supports strategic learning by offering tutorials, tools, templates, and activities to help you put UDL into practice.
The Incredible Handwriting Worksheet Maker - This is a great site. You can tell it what phrase or sentence to create and in which handwriting.
Post-It Software Notes - The lite version is free! These are electronic post-it notes. This software has many uses for students as well as teachers.
Digital Book - This is a good source of electronic books to use with a text reader such as "ReadPlease" or "E-Text Reader." It is free.
Bibliomania - This site has free access to thousands of e-books, poems, articles, short stories, and plays.
Learning Toolbox - This site has areas for teachers, students, and parents. It is written for middle school and high school students with learning difficulties. It contains 66 strategies for remediation.
Web XACT - This is a free service that lets you test single pages of web content for quality, accessibility, and privacy issues.
Activity Ideas for Severe/Profound/Multiple Disabilities - The purpose of this article is to suggest some realistic ideas for teaching students with severe disabilities. Hopefully, many of the activities will prove to be useful. Furthermore, it is hoped that with a little imagination, many more new ideas will be born.
